Groundwork Services (Durham) Ltd are looking for a Construction Buyer to work out of our head office in Langley Moor, Durham
Due to continuous growth we are looking for a buyer with proven experience in a similar role to work part of a highly reactive procurement department.
Main Duties
>Create and maintain existing relationships with merchants and suppliers.
>Maintaining records, and accurately raising purchase orders for materials and equipment.
>Procure and expedite materials to site in a timely and efficient manner.
>Successfully analyse and negotiate quotations for materials/tools/plant.
>Effectively maintain reports of plant and tools, both internal and hired.
>Cross-reference suppliers live hire reports/site reports/system reports.
>Ensure full utilisation of our own equipment where possible.
>Create Operations and Manuals folders to support materials ordered to site.
>Liaise directly with site managers and project managers on a regular basis with orders/updates.
Requirements
>Previous experience in a similar role.
>Knowledge of plant and tool equipment is desirable.
>Computer Literacy skills, familiarity with Microsoft programs and the ability to adapt to new management systems.
>Call handling experience, confident telephone manner.
>Reliable and well organised.
>To thrive in a busy department and be reactive working well under pressure.

Monday to Friday – 08:30 – 17:00
